Beachfront Villas for Families in Punta Mita

Costa · Local guide to the Mexican Pacific coast · Updated October 2026
For a family beach holiday in Punta Mita, look at Porta Fortuna for oceanfront residences of about three bedrooms, at TAU Residences for larger units with a private beach club and infinity pool, and at Kupuri for space and a beach club in a quiet setting. Beyond the property itself, the most important choice for children is the beach: calm, shallow water such as El Anclote suits young swimmers better than an open surf beach.

Choosing the beach for children

A beachfront villa is only as good as the sea in front of it. Calm, shallow beaches such as El Anclote suit young children, while surf beaches such as La Lancha are better for older swimmers and surfers. Our beach-by-beach swimming guide explains each one.

Conditions change by season and by the hour, and mornings are usually calmer. Ask Costa which villas sit near a calm stretch, and which have a short cart ride to one.

Family safety checklist

A day at the beach with children

Plan the beach around the water, not the villa. Mornings are usually calmer, and El Anclote is shallow and calm, which suits young swimmers. Destiladeras is a long gentle bay with wide sand, and Litibu is a quiet strand with a steady breeze. La Lancha is a surf beach with a reef and a jungle backdrop, better for older children with a coach.

Bring shade, reef-safe sun protection and water, and keep children within arm's reach. Our beach-by-beach swimming guide covers each beach in detail.

Beach clubs: ask which one comes with the villa

Punta Mita is really a collection of beach clubs, and which ones you can use depends on the community and the Club Punta Mita membership tier that comes with the home. Kupuri Beach Club is the grandest, a multi-level club with pools, dining and full service. The Residents' Beach Club is quieter and family-paced. Pacifico Beach Club sits by the golf and the point, and the Sufi Ocean Club anchors Porta Fortuna on the oceanfront.

A villa does not automatically unlock every club, so the single most useful question is which club your villa includes. That one detail shapes a whole week.

Chef, staff and the rest of the week

Most villas here can arrange a private chef for one dinner, a few nights or the whole stay, and many include housekeeping. Confirm which staff are included, their hours and whether groceries are stocked before you arrive. A concierge can also arrange golf, boat days, surf coaching, spa treatments and transfers from Puerto Vallarta airport.

Safety and security

Punta Mita is a gated peninsula of about 1,500 acres with a single controlled entrance and internal security, and the U.S. Department of State rates Nayarit at Level 2, exercise increased caution, as of its May 29, 2026 advisory. Check the current advisory before you travel, use arranged transfers, and ask your villa team about its own security arrangements.

How Costa works

Costa is a free local guide to a curated collection of homes it knows in person. You tell us your dates, group size and must-haves, we match the current collection, and we confirm every detail directly with the property before anything is booked. Payment stays between you and the property, and Costa does not quote prices.

Who this is not for

If you have very young children and want zero stairs, steps or open water near the house, a villa with a fenced pool and a short drive to a calm beach may be safer than strictly beachfront.

Tell Costa your dates, group size and must-haves in the chat, and we will send the current collection that fits.
